Derby County Vs Newscastle United Team News
The Magpies are back in Championship action this evening, when they make the trip to Pride Park for a meeting with the Rams, just a matter of weeks after Nigel Clough’s side drew 0-0 on Tyneside in our last game of 2009.
Kick-off is at 7.45pm and tickets for the away section will be on sale from the Pride Park Box Office before kickoff, priced at £33 adults, £20 OAPs, £15 bairns.
After the top three sides all won at the weekend, United sit three points ahead of West Brom and four ahead of Nottingham Forest, with a game in hand on both rivals. The gap to fourth-placed Cardiff is now 14 points.
NUFC: United will be without Steven Taylor, Jose Enrique and long-term absentee Joey Barton. Alan Smith should be available again after missing the win over Cardiff with a thigh problem, but Fabricio Coloccini remains a doubt with a hamstring strain.
Danny Simpson also limped through the final stages of his comeback game against the Bluebirds but is said to be OK. Nicky Butt is claimed to have a thigh injury.
Despite confirmation of his assault charge, striker Andy Carroll retains his place in the Newcastle squad.
