of course capello is going to be bothered about losing bridge – he’s widely considered the 2nd best left back we have and although baines or warnock may be ok, they’ve not got the international experience – and that’s what counts once you get to the sharp end of the world cup.

john terry should have done the honourable thing and stepped down from england until after the world cup. on top of what he did, he’s now robbed bridge of his best chance to play at the tournament. we’ve far more options in the middle for replacing him – lescott, wes brown (who played to a champions league final with rio there), even sol campbell or carragher if we’re desperate and he reconsiders.

cant see england making even the QF. no keeper of note, defense ravaged by injury and off the field antics, gerrard anonymous this season, walcott having a shocker, barry looking half the player he was at villa and a choice between heskey, 10-chances-to-score-1-andy-cole-mark-2 defoe, crouch or never played at the highest level carlton cole as a backup to rooney. not to mention our key left midfield hope cant get a game for chelsea and our options on the right consisting of grandad beckham or 2 players in SWP and lennon who have no end product.

i’d like to se cappelo give paul scholes a ring – surely ‘extending your career at united’ isnt an issue anymore given his career is all but over. would certainly give us another option on the bench. and we took fowler to the 2002 world cup…why not take owen?
